Journées de la Photo 2025: A Dense and Generous Itinerary

In an odd year, Le Mois de la Photo adopts the format of the Journées de la Photo, a more nomadic and event-driven event that extends the festival's spirit without a central exhibition at the Ancien Musée de Peinture. The 2025 edition unfolded from November 8 to 29, from Grenoble to Échirolles, from Fontaine to Villard-Bonnot, from Seyssins to Bernin, Crolles, and Saint-Martin-d'Hères.

The Making of the Image at the Heart of the Edition

This edition invited the public to explore what happens between the gaze and the hand, between reality and fiction, between the visible and the sensible. The theme of the making of the image permeated the entire program, questioning the creative processes, gestures, and choices that lead to the birth of a photograph.

27 Exhibitions, Over 40 Events

The program brought together 27 exhibitions and over 40 events in multiple and unexpected venues: galleries, art libraries, bookstores, cultural centers, community spaces, and heritage sites. Dozens of guest artists, from here and elsewhere, shared their perspectives and stories with the public.

Featured Artists

Among the artists presented: Mabeye Deme, Stéphanie Nelson, Jean-Pierre Angéi, Thibault Lefébure, Valérie Gaillard, Joëlle Ogé, as well as the collectives Tangibles and Fusées. Special attention was paid to the regional scene, forging links between audiences, venues, and photographic narratives.

Opening Event

The launch took place on Saturday, November 8, at 2 PM at Minimistan, with TV show segments featuring artists and partners, followed by a musical interlude with pianist JC Prince and a festive aperitif to inaugurate three weeks of photography in the region.
