Edition 2025 — Le Voyage à Nantes
The 14th edition of Voyage à Nantes took place from June 28 to August 31, 2025, on the theme of strangeness. The last edition designed by Jean Blaise before he handed over to Sophie Lévy, it featured around thirty artworks exploring hybridization, displacement, and storytelling, between humor and memory, along the green line.
14th Edition – Strangeness
The 2025 edition of Voyage à Nantes invoked the theme of strangeness, inviting artists to challenge codes and hierarchies through works imbued with poetry and mystery. The green line extended over 16 kilometers through the city, allowing visitors to discover the season's creations as well as all the permanent works since 2012.
This edition held a special significance: it marked the last season designed by Jean Blaise, founder and historical director of the event. After more than thirty-five years serving culture in Nantes, he passed the reins to Sophie Lévy, opening a new chapter for Le Voyage à Nantes.
Theme and Artworks
Strangeness, the common thread of this edition, was not intended to be gratuitous: it raised issues of memory, society, and identity. Artists explored carnival as a space of subversion, hybridization as a mode of creation, and storytelling as a vector of narrative. Around thirty artworks, including monumental installations, sculptures, and landscape interventions, punctuated the summer trail.
