Edition 2022 — Le Voyage en Hiver
First edition of Le Voyage en Hiver, inaugurated on November 24, 2022, by Mayor Johanna Rolland and Jean Blaise, director of Le Voyage à Nantes. Three artists were invited to create new works, including Vincent Olinet with his luminous trail "La nuit, je vois," spanning 1.5 km between the Château des ducs de Bretagne and the Muséum, and Dominique Blais with a sound installation.
1st Edition – Birth of Le Voyage en Hiver
For the first time in 2022, Le Voyage à Nantes was presented in its winter version. From November 24 to January 1, Nantes was adorned with new visual artworks and artistic illuminations for the holiday season.
Three Founding Artists
Three artists were commissioned for this inaugural edition:
- Vincent Olinet imagined "La nuit, je vois," a new kind of luminous trail stretching 1.5 kilometers through the city center, featuring five monumental sculptures inspired by Nantes' architectural heritage, in the style of Japanese lanterns.
- Dominique Blais designed a sound installation "À toute volée," activating Nantes' bells.
- A third artist completed the program with creations in public spaces.
The event was inaugurated on November 24 at 6 PM at the Château des ducs de Bretagne, in the presence of Johanna Rolland, Mayor of Nantes, and Jean Blaise, Director of Le Voyage à Nantes. This Voyage en Hiver was announced to last at least five years, with new creations each year.
