Les Épopées au Cœur de l'Yonne

Fifth Edition — Summer 2025

For its fifth edition, from July 29 to August 7, 2025, the festival Les Épopées au Cœur de l'Yonne continued its traveling exploration of the architectural and musical heritage of northern Yonne, between Sénonais and Jovinien. Ten days of concerts in ever more varied and unexpected venues confirmed the festival's deep roots in its territory while maintaining top-tier artistic standards.

Program Highlights

• Pierre Hantaï Recital (harpsichord) — Monday, August 4 at 8:30 PM, Saint-Savinien church in Sens. A rare and anticipated moment with this master of baroque harpsichord, of whom Stéphane Fuget was a student, offering an exceptional evening centered on the harpsichord repertoire of the 17th and 18th centuries.
• Ensemble Faenza Concert — Wednesday, August 6 at 8:30 PM, Château de Cudot. Free evening in the park of the medieval castle, with this early music ensemble associated with the festival.
• Concert by Trainees of the Ancient Music Academy — Thursday, August 7 at 6:30 PM, Saint-Pierre church in Saint-Julien-du-Sault. Free admission. A pedagogical and human highlight, giving voice and face to the young talents trained for several weeks alongside professional musicians.

The Summer Academy in Full Swing

In 2025, the academy once again brought together about twenty trainees selected by audition — singers, string instrumentalists, harpsichordists — coached by the musicians of the ensemble Les Épopées. Technical workshops and joint rehearsals with professionals formed the core of the training, extended by master-classes open to the public.

Access and Prices

Full price €15 per concert (€10 for the baroque ball), reduced price €10 for students, under 18s, job seekers, and recipients of AAH. Children under 12: free. 5-concert pass: €60. Opening concert and trainee concert: free admission.
