Les Improbables de Mauriac

4th Edition: 12 Troupes for a Weekend of Improv

For its 4th edition, the Les Improbables de Mauriac festival hosted from April 18 to 20, 2025, no less than 12 improvisation troupes from all over France. Over 30 entirely improvised shows took over the emblematic and atypical venues of Mauriac, transforming the courthouse, former prisons, market, media library, and even the municipal swimming pool into ephemeral stages.

Among the participating troupes: Les Non-Sens from Paris, Les Berlingots from Nantes, Le Gratin from Aurillac, Les Heavy Meta from Angoulême, the Compagnie Lotoise d'Improvisation from Saint-Céré, Les Particules from Albi, Les ACID from Le Puy-en-Velay, Les Diseuses de Bonne Amertume from Toulouse, as well as the local troupe Y'a l'Feu Aux Planches. Two professional companies also participated: the Compagnie Un Bruit de Grelot from Poitiers and the Compagnie À Qui Mieux Mieux from Toulouse.

New this year, the opening evening on Friday was hosted by the local troupe Yalfap itself. The traditional Saturday evening improv match offered its share of laughter and twists. The Sunday closing evening featured the show "Héritages", presented by the Compagnie Un Bruit de Grelot, exploring family ties through an improvised saga where the audience chose the characters and their relationships.

2025 Program

• Friday, April 18: Opening evening hosted by the local troupe Y'a l'Feu Aux Planches. Improv shows in Mauriac's unusual venues.
• Saturday, April 19: Daytime improv shows in various locations. Children's workshops. Grand improv match in the evening.
• Sunday, April 20: Daytime shows. Closing evening with the show "Héritages" by Compagnie Un Bruit de Grelot from Poitiers. Closing traditional dance (bal trad').
