Les Médiévales de Clisson 2024: The Grand Return After Five Years
On July 20 and 21, 2024, Les Médiévales de Clisson made their grand return for their 20th edition, after a five-year hiatus due to the health crisis. The association Les Amis du Château de Clisson and its 70 volunteers transformed the historic center into a 15th-century city, attracting between 5,000 and 10,000 visitors.
The festival offered a rich program: reconstituted military encampments, chivalry demonstrations and béhourd tournaments, a medieval market with 35 shops (soaps, costumes, swords, crafts), shows of juggling, medieval music, fire-eaters, and stilt walkers, as well as historical skits telling the story of the castle and Olivier de Clisson. On Saturday evening, the festivities continued with a medieval ball, rustic feasts, and a grand pyrotechnic show.
