Edition 2025 — Les Nuits Frappées
The 15th edition of Les Nuits Frappées de Bruniquel was held on August 30, 2025, in the medieval village. Over 110 percussionists divided into 7 batucada groups invaded the village alleys for an enchanting nocturnal procession, before gathering for a grand final concert on the castle esplanade. Admission was completely free, and the event brought together thousands of spectators.

Les Nuits Frappées 2025 — Batucada Takes Over Bruniquel
On Saturday, August 30, 2025, Bruniquel experienced an exceptional night with the 15th edition of Les Nuits Frappées. More than 110 percussionists, divided into 7 batucada groups from all over France, took over the medieval alleys of the village for an extraordinary nocturnal sound journey.
The Procession Through the Village
As night fell, the batucada groups began their march from the bottom of the village, filling the stone alleys with their captivating polyrhythms. The drums — surdos, repiniques, caixas, tamborins — echoed against the ancient walls, creating a unique acoustic experience amplified by the medieval setting. Thousands of spectators followed, accompanied, or watched from windows and stairs this procession of rhythms and colors.
The 7 Batucada Groups
Seven batucada groups, each with its own style, arrangements, and energy, participated in the 2025 edition. Their diversity — some very close to the Carioca tradition, others more hybridized with funk, afrobeat, or contemporary influences — illustrated the richness and vitality of the French batucada scene.
The Final Concert at the Castles
The climax of the evening took place on the esplanade of the castles, when all the groups converged for a collective final concert. Over a hundred drums beating in unison against the illuminated ramparts of the Bruniquel castles — a spectacle of rare power, under the Occitan stars.
The event, completely free, brought together several thousand spectators, some coming from very far away to experience this unique night.
