36th edition: an exceptional program
The 36th edition of the Festival des Nuits Musicales de Corps offered from August 2nd to 14th, 2025, a rich and varied program of eight concerts in the Saint-Pierre church of Corps. Internationally renowned artists and promising young talents performed the great works of the chamber music repertoire, covering all styles and periods, from baroque to romantic.
Highlights of the 2025 edition
The festival opened on August 2nd with a young talents recital by the Quatuor Rozace, a flute quartet composed of Mélisande Daudet, Justine Caillé, Orry Borry, and Maxime Giraud, in a program blending Mozart, Piazzolla, Bach, Tchaikovsky, Fauré, and Ravel. On August 4th, the Quatuor Ellipsos (saxophones) joined soprano Inès Halimi for a program titled "Prayers," exploring the sacred repertoire from Corelli to Verdi, including Mozart.
August 5th showcased the young prodigy Théo Grundmann-Brechet, a virtuoso of the violin, trumpet, and piano, accompanied by his mother Laure Grundmann in pieces by Paganini, Lalo, Wieniawski, and Rachmaninoff. On August 7th, for the first time in the festival's history, a recital combining poetry and music brought together Michèle Barbe (reciter) and Jacqueline Barbe (piano) around poems by Aude Gorce set to music by Schumann, Debussy, Brahms, Chopin, and Bach.
On August 8th, pianist François Dumont, a laureate of the International Chopin Competition, delivered a masterful interpretation of Liszt's "Harmonies poétiques et religieuses," a cycle of ten solo piano pieces. On August 10th, the Orchestre de Chambre Nouvelle Europe, conducted by Nicolas Krauze, presented "La Nuit Vivaldi," a program of eight concertos exploring the instrumental diversity of the "most admired virtuoso" of the baroque era.
On August 12th, the ensemble La Petite Symphonie performed works by Boccherini, Mozart, and Haydn on period instruments. The festival concluded on August 14th with a recital by guitarist Emmanuel Rossfelder, blending Spanish and Latin American repertoire with arrangements of Chopin and Schubert.
