Edition 2025 — Les Utopiales
The 25th edition of Les Utopiales took place from October 30 to November 2, 2025, celebrating a quarter-century of science fiction in Nantes under the theme "Singularity(ies)". The festival featured 118 conferences, 56 film screenings, and 14 exhibitions, bringing together 266 speakers from around the world.
25th Edition - Singularity(ies)
For its 25th anniversary, the Les Utopiales festival chose to explore the theme of "Singularity(ies)", broken down into four axes: attraction, resistance, the individual, and anomaly. This anniversary edition brought together an exceptionally rich program, with 118 conferences and round tables, 56 film screenings, and 14 exhibitions.
Among the prestigious guests were author-director Enki Bilal, author Christelle Dabos, philosopher and physicist Étienne Klein, mathematician and YouTuber Mickaël Launay, comic book author Mathieu Bablet, as well as international authors Rivers Solomon and Andreas Eschbach.
The film competition presented 8 feature films and 28 short films in international competition, highlighted by the French premiere of Mamoru Hosoda's film Scarlett. The main exhibition was dedicated to Stéphanie Hans, guest of honor who also created the poster for this anniversary edition.
The festival offered innovative thematic paths: "Discovering Science Fiction", "Protecting the Living", and "Artificial Intelligence: Scourge or Progress?", allowing the public to navigate the program according to their interests.
