Edition 2025 — Lire à Gordes
The 2025 edition of Lire à Gordes was held on April 26 and 27, 2025, at the Château de Gordes and in the village streets. Encounters with authors, book signing sessions, literary round tables, and readings enlivened two cultural days in one of the Most Beautiful Villages in France, in the heart of the Provençal Luberon.

2025 Edition — Words at the heart of the most beautiful village in France
On April 26 and 27, 2025, the village of Gordes transformed into a city of books for the 2025 edition of Lire à Gordes. In the exceptional setting of the Château de Gordes, a Renaissance edifice with four imposing towers overlooking the Luberon plain, authors, publishers, booksellers, and readers gathered for two days of literary sharing.
The program brought together authors from various genres — contemporary fiction, historical novels, Provençal literature, essays — for encounters and book signings in the castle halls and village streets. The round tables organized in the castle's grand hall facilitated fascinating discussions on writing and the relationship with the territory, against the backdrop of the striking beauty of the Luberon landscape.
Readings aloud by actors resonated in the courtyards and cobblestone streets, making the Provençal stones vibrate with the sound of words. The village of booksellers and publishers offered a curated selection of works, from regional literature to bestsellers. Workshops for young readers introduced children to writing and discovering books in a fun and welcoming atmosphere.
