Lumières en Seine: The Magical Winter at the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud

Every autumn-winter, the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud transforms into a vast theater of lights thanks to Lumières en Seine, the grand luminous and musical trail that attracts tens of thousands of visitors each year. In this historic 460-hectare park, a classified natural monument overlooking the Seine valley with a panoramic view of Paris, night becomes an invitation to a poetic and immersive journey.

The trail spans approximately 2 kilometers and features over 25 original themed installations. Each stage is a surprise: mirror games, luminous waterfalls, forests of colored beams, monumental light sculptures, and interactive animations for children. The artistic creation renews part of the scenography each year, ensuring an ever-new experience even for regulars.

A Journey Through Forest, Gardens, and Water

The path winds through the park's wooded alleys, follows the old royal perspectives, and circles the basins and water features that reflect the colorful lights. Among the most popular scenes are the Route des Étoiles (Route of Stars), the Symphonie des Éléments (Symphony of Elements), the Champ de Luminescences (Field of Luminescences), the Grande Cascade illuminée (Great Illuminated Waterfall), and the Forêt Cosmique (Cosmic Forest). Each sequence creates its own atmosphere, balancing contemplative wonder with joyful interactivity.

The walk lasts between one and one and a half hours, depending on your pace and the time spent at each installation. The trail is accessible with strollers, although some dirt path sections may require caution. A large catering area is set up in the heart of the trail, offering hot drinks, sweet and savory snacks, and a carousel for the younger ones, allowing visitors to recharge before continuing their exploration.

A Family and Intimate Event

Lumières en Seine is designed for all audiences. Children are naturally captivated by the interactive installations and light animations, while adults appreciate the artistic quality of the creations and the beauty of the setting. The nocturnal visit to the Domaine de Saint-Cloud, usually inaccessible after dark, gives the event a rare and precious dimension: the opportunity to experience an exceptional heritage site in a completely new light.

The event is part of the winter cultural programming of the Hauts-de-Seine department and the Métropole du Grand Paris. It helps keep the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud vibrant beyond the summer season, offering residents and visitors another reason to rediscover this jewel of French heritage in the heart of the Parisian suburbs.

2025-2026 Edition: A New Magical Trail

The 2025-2026 edition of Lumières en Seine will take place from November 14, 2025, to January 11, 2026, every evening from 5 PM to 11 PM (last entry at 9 PM). Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays outside of school holidays, as well as on December 24 and 31, this edition will renew some of the scenes to offer new surprises to loyal visitors while enchanting newcomers.
