3rd edition of the Maginot Trail in Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache. Three forest courses of 12, 24, and 32 km through the state forest, passing by the Benedictine abbey, the Maginot Line blockhouses, and the Sougland Foundries. Record participation for this edition.
3rd Edition — Record Participation
The 3rd edition of the Maginot Trail took place on Sunday, June 16, 2024, starting from the municipal stadium of Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache. The event saw record participation, demonstrating the growing enthusiasm for this trail race in the heart of Thiérache.
Runners set off on three courses: the Pic Épeiche (32 km, 704 m D+) at 9:00 AM, the Gratte Pierre (24 km, 588 m D+) at 9:30 AM, and La Rochette (12 km, 237 m D+) at 10:00 AM. After leaving the stadium, participants crossed the abbey site founded in the 10th century, then entered the Saint-Michel state forest where they ran along the Maginot Line blockhouses, before returning to the finish line via the Sougland Foundries, an industrial site founded in 1543.
