Maginot Trail

4th Edition — Departmental Trail Championships

The 4th edition of the Maginot Trail took place on Sunday, June 15, 2025, in Saint-Michel-en-Thiérache. A major new feature of this edition: the 24 km course served as the host for the Aisne departmental trail championships, strengthening the sporting dimension of the event.

Starts were given from the municipal stadium: Le Pic Épeiche (32 km, 704 m D+) at 8:30 AM, Le Gratte Pierre (24 km, 588 m D+) at 9:00 AM, and La Rochette (12 km, 237 m D+) at 9:30 AM. A hiking tour was also offered for 3 euros with on-site registration. Runners covered the forest trails of Thiérache, discovering the Benedictine abbey, the Maginot Line fortifications, and the historic site of the Sougland Foundries.

Aid stations on the courses, changing rooms and showers at the stadium, medical assistance, refreshment, and catering on site completed the organization of this successful edition.
