Medieval Festival of Chauvigny

20th Edition — August 23-24, 2025

The 20th edition of the Medieval Festival of Chauvigny took over the upper town on August 23 and 24, 2025, for a weekend of medieval immersion. On Saturday, the troupes of Les Fines Lames Chauvinoises and Tan Elleil animated the market with processions and combat scenes, before a grand medieval ball on the Place du Donjon followed by a fire show by the Nouaillé 1356 company. On Sunday, the medieval artisan market unfolded from 10 AM to 6 PM in the streets of the upper town, punctuated by sword fights, medieval fables, music, and period dances. The museums opened their doors for free.

2025 Program

• Saturday, August 23: processions and market fights (morning), costumed parade in the streets (afternoon), medieval ball at Place du Donjon (8 PM), nocturnal fire show by Nouaillé 1356
• Sunday, August 24: medieval artisan market (10 AM-6 PM), sword fighting demonstrations, medieval fables, music and dances, choir at the Saint-Pierre collegiate church, free guided tours of the keep
• Medieval encampments with workshops: stone carving, coin minting, mail making
• Free access to the museums of the medieval town
