With about fifty chalets, including seven new ones—among them an Italian chalet with pasta cooked in a parmesan wheel, a Forez chalet, and a stand for decorative items made from recycled vinyl—the Saint-Étienne Christmas village offered crafts, creations, and gourmet treats in a magical atmosphere. A brand-new Santa Claus sleigh was installed on Place Jean-Jaurès. Security was reinforced with a doubling of municipal police personnel.
Saint-Étienne Christmas Market 2025
From November 21 to December 31, 2025, the city center of Saint-Étienne transformed into a magical Christmas village. The Hôtel-de-Ville, Jean-Jaurès, and Dorian squares hosted about fifty chalets featuring local artisans, creators, and producers, bathed in the illuminations and magic of the holidays.
2025 Novelties
This edition introduced seven new chalets, enriching the market's offerings:
- An Italian chalet offering pasta cooked in a parmesan wheel, for a spectacular gourmet experience
- A Forez chalet showcasing traditional local terroir specialties
- A stand for decorative items made from recycled vinyl, combining creativity and an eco-responsible approach
A brand-new, shiny Santa Claus sleigh was installed on Place Jean-Jaurès for the delight of children and families wishing to immortalize their visit.
Attractions and Entertainment
Visitors enjoyed the 30-meter panoramic Ferris wheel offering breathtaking views of the illuminated city, the outdoor ice rink and ice trail on Place Jean-Jaurès, the Belle Époque carousel, the 18-meter giant Christmas tree, and Santa Claus's House on Place Dorian. A tourist mini-train and a sledding run completed the family activities.
"Féeries de Noël"
Every Advent weekend, the "Féeries de Noël" animated the squares with companies of dancers, musicians, and circus artists offering free parades and street performances from 2 PM to 5 PM. The Friday "Afterwork" concerts punctuated the end of the day in a festive and warm atmosphere.
Reinforced Security
Following the previous year's events, the City doubled the municipal police force—twelve officers on busy days (Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays) compared to six previously—and deployed anti-crime units, surveillance cameras, and private security guards for nighttime monitoring of the chalets.
