Night of Museums 2025 in the Yonne – May 17, 2025
On May 17, 2025, the European Night of Museums illuminated the collections of the Yonne. The Musée de l'Avallonnais Jean Després in Avallon welcomed the public from 2 PM to midnight for an evening of cultural and artistic discoveries.
The highlight of the Avallon program was a Chinese calligraphy workshop led by artist Liu Hsiang Lan. Participants learned to prepare Chinese ink, draw characters, and paint bamboo, orchids, and dragons in the pure tradition of scholarly painting. A break dedicated to martial arts and associated games completed this evening steeped in Asian culture.
