Edition 2024 — Normandie Impressionniste (Eure)
150 years of Impressionism celebrated in grand style
The fifth edition of Normandie Impressionniste unfolded from March 22 to September 22, 2024, celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of the Impressionist movement. With 150 events — around twenty Impressionist exhibitions, thirty contemporary art and photography exhibitions, and numerous multidisciplinary events — this historic edition attracted two million visits throughout Normandy.
In Eure, the Musée des Impressionnismes de Giverny presented the major exhibition “Impressionism and the Sea,” exploring the fascination of Impressionist painters with maritime landscapes, water reflections, and the light of the Norman coast. In Vernon, the Pavillon des Jouets hosted “Loin du Bruit” by Sarah Jérôme, a contemporary art exhibition echoing the Impressionist heritage.
Numerous other events — concerts, conferences, guided tours, workshops — marked this edition in the towns of Eure, confirming the department's deep connection to the history and legacy of the Impressionist movement.
