The 16th edition of the CIC Normandy Channel Race set off on May 25, 2025, off Ouistreham with 32 Class40s entered, a participation record. The 1,000-mile race crossed the English Channel, the Celtic Sea, and the Channel Islands.
16th CIC Normandy Channel Race 2025
The 16th edition of the CIC Normandy Channel Race took place from May 21 to June 1, 2025. The start was given on Sunday, May 25 at 2 PM off Ouistreham with a record 32 Class40s entered. The crews faced the currents of the English Channel, rounded Fastnet Rock south of Ireland, and crossed the Raz-Blanchard to return to Normandy.
Among the participating sailors were Michel Desjoyeaux (two-time Vendée Globe winner) and Vincent Riou (2004-2005 Vendée Globe winner).
