Edition 2024 — Opéra Bastide
Acclaimed first edition of the Opéra Bastide festival, from July 18 to 28, 2024, in Villefranche-de-Rouergue. 1st Edition — July 18 to 28, 2024
The first edition of Opéra Bastide took place from July 18 to 28, 2024, transforming Villefranche-de-Rouergue into an open-air opera stage. The event was organized by the association Les Arts en Bastide Royale in partnership with Lyric Arts France.
The program included:
- Mozart's The Magic Flute: four performances at the Théâtre municipal (July 19, 21, 27, and 28), in an original production in French, German, and Occitan with surtitles. Prices: 15 to 35 euros.
- Musical Walk: a promenade concert through the bastide's chapels (Chapelle Saint-Jacques, Augustins, Pénitents Noirs). Price: 50 euros.
- Open Windows: intimate baroque concerts at Maison Dardenne. Prices: 12 to 25 euros.
- International Cabaret: free evenings at Café L'Atmosphère.
- Masterclasses in singing with four international vocal coaches, sessions open to the public.
