Edition 2025 — Pilgrimage of the Gypsies
Pilgrimage of the Gypsies 2025 in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, from May 24th to 26th. Traditional processions of Saint Sarah and the Boat of the Saintes to the Mediterranean.
The May 2025 Pilgrimage
The Pilgrimage of the Gypsies 2025 was held from May 24th to 26th, 2025 in Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. True to tradition, the ceremonies brought together thousands of Gypsy, Roma, and Manouche pilgrims from all over Europe to honor Saint Sarah and the Saintes Maries Jacobé and Salomé.
The procession of Sara the Black on May 24th and the procession of the Boat of the Saintes on May 25th once again marked the most moving moments of the pilgrimage, with the procession descending towards the sea accompanied by horse-riding gardians, women in traditional costumes, and a huge crowd of faithful and visitors. Baptisms and family reunions completed these days of rare spiritual and human intensity.
