12th Edition - Printemps de la Sardine 2025

The 12th edition of Printemps de la Sardine took place in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie from April 19 to May 3, 2025, offering two weeks of exceptional musical and vocal richness. True to its tradition of highlighting the human voice in all its diversity, the festival hosted professional and amateur choral ensembles, sea shanties and traditional songs, world polyphonies, and contemporary creations.

The many venues in Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie served as settings for these concerts: the church resonated with sacred polyphonies, the market hall buzzed with popular concerts, the port quays hosted open-air sea shanties, and the streets of old Saint-Gilles vibrated with the sound of itinerant choirs. This edition attracted a large and loyal audience, coming from all over the Vendée and neighboring departments to enjoy this unique musical fortnight.

Vocal practice workshops accompanied the concerts, allowing participants to learn sea shanties, polyphonies, and choral singing techniques. The 12th edition thus confirmed Printemps de la Sardine's place as one of the most original and endearing vocal festivals on the Atlantic coast.
