40th edition: Mathieu Amalric celebrates the anniversary
The 40th Rencontres Cinéma de Gindou took place from August 17 to 24, 2024, marking the festival's fortieth anniversary. Mathieu Amalric, one of the most unique actors and directors in French cinema, was the guest of honor for this anniversary edition.
A program featuring 81 films
This edition featured 81 films divided into four selections:
- Mathieu Amalric Retrospective: present from August 17 to 23, he interacted with the audience at each screening and participated in two in-depth "tchatches," including a dialogue with Clara Petazzoni about her short film Amours sourdes and a conversation about his entire career
- Cinematic Wanderings: recent films from around the world
- Heritage Films: in partnership with the Cinémathèque de Toulouse
- Film Schools: student productions
Traveling Cinema
The festival also offered traveling screenings in the surrounding towns: Gourdon, Salviac, Dégagnac, and Montcléra.
