8th Edition of Rencontres Photographiques du Trièves
The 8th edition of the Rencontres Photographiques du Trièves took place from June 28 to August 31, 2025, across eight communes of the Trièves: Clelles, Mens, Gresse-en-Vercors, Monestier-de-Clermont, Saint-Martin-de-la-Cluze, Saint-Maurice-en-Trièves, Treffort, and other villages in the region. This edition confirmed the festival's place in the summer cultural landscape of Isère.
About Thirty Open-Air Exhibitions
Approximately thirty individual and collective exhibitions were offered to the public during the two summer months. The photographers, selected by a jury for the quality and originality of their work, presented series covering a wide spectrum of contemporary photography: portraits, landscapes, documentary reports, wildlife photography, conceptual series, and artistic creations. The prints were displayed outdoors, in the streets and squares of the villages, as well as in municipal halls and heritage sites.
Opening Reception and Guided Tours
The official opening reception took place on Sunday, June 29, 2025, with guided tours of the exhibitions led by the photographers. Throughout the summer, meetings with the artists, open-air photographic screenings, and events punctuated the exhibition trail, inviting the public to deepen their discovery of contemporary photography in an exceptional natural and heritage setting.
A Festival Rooted in its Territory
True to its DNA, this 8th edition continued the mission of the association Artistes Associés du Trièves: to make photography accessible to all in a rural mountain region. All exhibitions and events were free and open access, allowing residents, summer visitors, and photography enthusiasts to fully enjoy this artistic journey through the landscapes of the Trièves.
