32nd Edition: The Far North and Shared Voices

The 2025 edition of Symphonies d'Automne, from November 4th to 16th, was themed around the Far North, offering a poetic immersion into Scandinavian musical traditions. The opening night at the Pathé cinema featured a screening of Bo Widerberg's Swedish film *Elvira Madigan*, accompanied by Mozart's 21st Concerto.

The festival presented an exceptional program: Gounod's opera Faust conducted by David Hurpeau, the concert C(h)œur des Fjords at the Protestant temple (Nordic polyphonies with the choirs of the Conservatoire Edgar Varèse), concerts by artist Célestin and violinist Mathias Lévy, a conference by composer Régis Campo, and youth performances.

The International Opera Singing Competition brought together 61 singers from around the world, under the patronage of soprano Catherine Trottmann. The final on November 16th at the Théâtre Scène nationale saw the finalists perform works by Beethoven, Gounod, and Grieg with the Mâcon Symphony Orchestra, culminating in Gabriel Fauré's *Pavane* with the regional choirs.
