21st edition — July 2025

The 2025 edition of the Textes en l'air festival welcomed the public from July 23 to 27 in the courtyards, gardens, and alleys of the medieval village of Saint-Antoine-l'Abbaye. For this 21st edition, artistic director Valérie Charpinet has curated a program faithful to the festival's identity: a fruitful dialogue between the village's centuries-old heritage and the most contemporary dramatic writing.

A program between heritage and contemporary creation

As every year, the festival offered a rich diversity of artistic forms: plays, staged readings, poetic wanderings through the village, open-air concerts, conferences, writing workshops, and shows for young audiences. The "Nuit de l'écriture" (Writing Night), an emblematic highlight of the festival, once again brought together lovers of literary creation for an exceptional evening combining readings, performances, and collective writing.

Resident artists

True to its mission of supporting creation, the festival hosted authors in residence whose works fueled the program's thematic thread. The winning companies of the Les Envolées program, a biennial initiative supporting young theatrical creation led by the collective Troisième Bureau, also presented their creations, thus concluding their dissemination tour in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region.

Conviviality and sharing

The 2025 edition confirmed the festival's vocation as a privileged place for encounters and exchanges between artists and the public. The refreshment stand in the Grande Cour, the aperitif-gatherings, and the shared meals constituted moments of conviviality that have been the soul of Textes en l'air since its inception.
