3rd edition: traditional music in celebration

For its third edition, the Tradethik Festival took place from May 1st to 3rd, 2025 in Albi. The Pratgraussals hall once again hosted the main balls from Thursday to Saturday evening, while the Sainte-Madeleine Church vibrated to the sound of acoustic concerts. This edition confirmed the festival's place in the landscape of living traditional music in Occitania and its ability to bring together an increasingly large and loyal audience.

The 2025 program featured a selection of artists from the French and European folk, Occitan, and world music scenes, true to the festival's spirit: musicians who inhabit tradition while reinventing it, capable of getting the crowds on the dance floors moving. The evenings alternated between discovery concerts and lively balls, with bands of various styles—from southern folk to Northern European music, including Gascon and Breton repertoires.

During the day, music and dance workshops welcomed amateurs and experienced participants to learn about emblematic traditional instruments: violin, hurdy-gurdy, diatonic accordion, boha, Occitan singing, and various ballroom dances. These transmission moments, led by renowned pedagogical musicians, are one of the pillars of the Tradethik Festival's identity.

The luthier and artisan stands, the open stage for amateur musicians, and the bar offering local drinks completed a festive and convivial offering, true to the festival's DNA: “friendly, intergenerational, and open to everyone.”
