Ubaye Snow Trail Salomon — Trail running on snow in Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye

11th Edition: Return After Two Years' Absence

On Sunday, February 20, 2022, the Ubaye Snow Trail Salomon made its return to Saint-Paul-sur-Ubaye after two editions were canceled due to the health crisis related to Covid-19. This 11th edition brought together 538 runners at the start, happy to rediscover the snowy landscapes of the high Ubaye valley.

The Elite course was slightly adapted to the snow conditions, offering 21 km with 1,000 m of positive elevation gain instead of the usual 22 km. The Discovery course retained its 9 km and 250 m of elevation gain. Starts were given at 10:00 AM for the Elite and 10:45 AM for the Discovery, from the Nordic area chalet.

The event was part of the 3rd stage of the Challenge des Trails de Provence, adding an extra competitive dimension to this friendly event. Catalan runners dominated the rankings of this stage, confirming the appeal of the Snow Trail beyond the borders of the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence.
