Ultra Trail du Grand Colombier

1st Edition - UTGC 2025

The very first edition of the Ultra Trail du Grand Colombier took place on Saturday 24 May 2025, marking the birth of a major new trail event in the Bugey. Six races were offered, from the accessible 7 km to the 120 km ultra with 5,000 metres of elevation gain.

Runners discovered the breathtaking landscapes of the Grand Colombier massif: panoramic ridges, deep forests, waterfalls and Rhône valleys. The ascent of the Grand Colombier, a legendary cycling pass, was the emblematic passage of the long-distance events.

The Ultra 80 km was listed as a qualifying event for the UTMB 100K Index, attracting high-level trail runners seeking to validate their qualification for the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.

• 45 km Mac Sport (2,000 m elevation gain) - Start Hauteville-Lompnes
• Trail 30 km (1,300 m elevation gain) - Start Seyssel
• Gravel Run 16 km (100 m elevation gain) - Start Seyssel
• Run 7 km (200 m elevation gain) - Start Culoz

All finishes at Culoz-Béon, En Verbaou leisure area.
