7th Edition — Winter 2025
The 7th edition of Variations Classiques took place from January 15 to March 2, 2025 at Bonlieu Scène nationale in Annecy. This edition notably featured choreographer Mourad Merzouki, also choreographer for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, who presented a creation blending contemporary dance and orchestra in collaboration with the Orchestre de Genève.
Composer and conductor Alexandre Gasparov presented *Modeste le petit pion*, a film concert with the company La Filiale Fantôme and director François-Xavier Rouyer, inspired by the literary world of Lewis Carroll. The festival continued its mission of opening classical music to other artistic disciplines.
