Variations 2025 — 9th edition
The 9th edition of the Variations festival, supported by the Lieu Unique and the BNP Paribas Foundation, took place from March 28 to April 6, 2025, across nine venues in Nantes. With forty scheduled concerts, the festival offered a total immersion into the world of piano and keyboards in all their forms.
A sonic journey between genres
The 2025 edition presented a sonic journey blending electronic music, jazz, hyperpop, and multiple experiments. Classical music met the modern with Vanessa Wagner and Wilhem Latchoumia, while Anna von Hausswolff transported the audience into a mysterious atmosphere between organ and drone.
From the hyperpop of Oklou to the synthpop waves of Reymour, the festival made room for intense experiences. Erika de Casier, Backxwash, Kode9, Tarta Relena, Bill Orcutt Trio, and Kassie Krut also marked this edition with the diversity and audacity of their offerings.
Iconic venues
Rooted at the Lieu Unique, the festival also took over the Musée d'arts de Nantes, the Chapelle de l'Immaculée, Macadam, Ohm Town, and other emblematic venues in the metropolitan area, confirming the nomadic and urban dimension of Variations.
