Edition 2025 — Christmas Market
2025 Edition — December 20th and 21st
On December 20th and 21st, 2025, Villeneuve-sur-Yonne (89500) hosted its annual Christmas Market in the historic center of the medieval city founded by Louis VII. Over two days, open from 10 AM to 7 PM on Saturday and 10 AM to 6 PM on Sunday, the covered market, Rue du Commerce, and Places Simone Veil and République brought together about sixty exhibitors in a warm and festive atmosphere.
Diverse Exhibitors for All Tastes
Artisans and creators offered a wide range of original and quality products: natural stone jewelry, ceramics, handmade soap, natural cosmetics, wooden objects, Christmas decorations, photography, and visual arts. On the gastronomy side, chocolatiers, beekeepers, artisan cheese makers, cider producers, and Burgundian winegrowers allowed visitors to assemble their gourmet year-end gifts. Local associations completed the offerings with their own creations and solidarity productions.
Activities for the Whole Family
Santa Claus strolled throughout both days for the delight of children, stopping for photos and chats with young visitors. A merry-go-round and a duck fishing game were set up to entertain children while their parents shopped. The food stalls on Place Simone Veil offered mulled wine, roasted chestnuts, and other winter specialties to warm up between stall visits.
On Sunday evening, the market concluded beautifully with a Christmas carol concert at the Théâtre de Villeneuve-sur-Yonne, offering visitors a moment of musical grace to close this festive weekend in the medieval city of the Yonne.
