2025 Edition — Résiste!

Under the unifying theme Résiste! (Resist!), the 2025 edition of Villes des Musiques du Monde offered from October 11 to November 11, 2025, a month of concerts, workshops, and meetings in about twenty towns in Seine-Saint-Denis and the Paris region. The theme invited audiences to see music as a space for freedom, identity affirmation, and resistance to homogenization.

Featured Artists

Femi Kuti, son of the legendary Fela Kuti and heir to revolutionary afrobeat, electrified the venues of the 93 department with his energy and political commitment. The great Clinton Fearon, a towering figure of Jamaican reggae, brought his melodic wisdom and humanist lyrics. Franco-Syrian flutist Naïssam Jalal offered an inner journey between jazz and oriental music. L'Ultrabal, a collective of Caribbean music, put the audience into a trance with its bal rhythms. Southern Italian singer Davide Ambrogio closed the festival with a program of Mediterranean popular music of rare authenticity.
