Ban des Vendanges 2025 — September 5th, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
On September 5th, 2025, the village of Châteauneuf-du-Pape celebrated with its usual solemnity and joy the official opening of the grape harvest. The Confrérie des Echansons des Papes d'Avignon, in ceremonial medieval costumes, led the procession through the village streets before proclaiming the ban on the central square, allowing winemakers to begin their harvest.
The quality of the 2025 vintage, eagerly awaited after a warm spring and a scorching summer tempered by the mistral, promised wines of great concentration. The estates open for tasting allowed visitors to discover the latest vintages, while the producers' market offered the flavors of Provence in this beautiful season. The evening concluded with the Provençal feast bringing together winemakers and visitors around tables set up under the plane trees.
