First edition: birth of a festival
The Beau Boucan Festival #1 took place on Friday, March 14 and Saturday, March 15, 2025 at La Barakason in Rezé, marking the birth of a new event for pop and independent music in the Nantes metropolitan area. This first edition, the result of the partnership between the Beau Boucan association and La Soufflerie, featured eight artists spread over two evenings.
Friday, March 14 hosted YMNK, a DIY musician and multi-instrumentalist from Lille specializing in synth-pop, Laventure, an indie pop band with dynamic and energetic arrangements, Dear March, a Nantes-based synth-folk trio performing with five musicians, and L'Étalon Disco on the decks to close the evening with 1980s-90s Italian, house, and funk sets.
Saturday, March 15 showcased UTO, a prismatic synth-pop duo with nineties influences, Geagea, an indie synth-pop project with cinematic accents, Brūma, a dark pop and trip-hop revelation with atmospheric soundscapes, and DJ La Chagrine with her groovy and cool electronic sounds.
A free warm-up party opened the festivities on Thursday, March 5 at CafK, with Arthur Fu Bandini live and Santa Resaca DJ set.
