Edition 2025 — Chaumont Biennial
The 5th edition of the International Biennial of Graphic Design was held from May 21 to October 19, 2025 in Chaumont. Centered around the theme "Noise," it explored the relationships between graphic design and sound through ten exhibitions, the 31st international poster competition, the 27th student competition "Join the Playlist!", conferences, workshops, and concerts.

5th Edition — "Noise" — May 21 to October 19, 2025
The fifth edition of the International Biennial of Graphic Design of Chaumont offered a vast program around the theme "Noise", questioning the diversity of relationships between graphic design and sound. While the relationship between music and visual arts has been widely studied, this edition explored how graphic design and its media influence music itself.
Ten Exhibitions Throughout the City
The program included ten exhibitions spread across several locations in Chaumont: Le Signe, the Tisza Textil warehouse, the Institut du patrimoine haut-marnais, the Chapelle, and the Espace Bouchardon. Highlights included:
- "H5, voir la French Touch" at La Chapelle: 250 vinyl covers, videos, posters, and flyers related to electronic music from the 2000s
- "Metalogo": an exploration of graphic identities in the metal music scene
- An exhibition celebrating the 10th anniversary of ANRT (Atelier national de recherche typographique)
- "FanArt": an exhibition of letters and sounds
- "Simenon Simenon": the graphic creation of the paperback collections dedicated to Georges Simenon
International Competitions
The 31st International Poster Competition brought together over a hundred posters from the best global creations. The 27th Student Competition "Join the Playlist!" invited each submission to refer to a music track or a sound object.
Event Weekends
The inaugural weekend from May 22 to 25, 2025, kicked off with the official opening, La Guinguette à Roulette, concerts on the Place des Arts, and the award ceremony for the poster competition. The closing weekend on October 17, 18, and 19 featured conferences, concerts, guided tours, and presentations of artistic projects.
