3rd Edition — April 2025

The third edition of CinéTalia, from April 8 to 12, 2025, offered a program of fifteen Italian films at the CGR in Niort, structured around three main thematic axes.

"Luchino Visconti Per Sempre" Cycle

Three masterpieces by the master of Italian cinema: Bellissima (1951), a poignant portrait of a Roman mother with Anna Magnani; Senso (1954), a romantic and political fresco in the Venice of the Risorgimento; and The Innocent (1976), Visconti's final film adapted from D'Annunzio.

"Through the Eyes of Pier Paolo Pasolini" — Silvana Mangano Focus

Two major films from the collaboration between Pasolini and the icon Silvana Mangano: Teorema (1968), an incandescent parable about Milanese bourgeoisie, and Oedipus Rex (1967), a free adaptation of Sophocles' tragedy between Morocco and Italy.

Contemporary Cinema — Paolo Virzì

Three films by the Tuscan director Paolo Virzì: Like Crazy with Valeria Bruni Tedeschi and Micaela Ramazzotti, Magic Nights, a tribute to Italian cinema of the 1990s, and The Best of Youth, an acid comedy about contemporary Italy.
