Cotignac Quince Festival - 2025 Edition
On Sunday, October 26, 2025, the medieval village of Cotignac celebrated the Provençal quince during its annual festival. In the golden light of the Var autumn, the Cours Gambetta and the alleys of the listed village welcomed producers, artisans, and visitors from all over the Var for this day of terroir and popular traditions.
The artisanal market brought together jam makers, beekeepers, potters, and local producers offering their regional products. Stalls dedicated to quince-based specialties—jams, fruit pastes, jellies, syrups—attracted many lovers of authentic flavors. The demonstrations of quince jam and paste making allowed visitors to discover the ancestral gestures of transforming this autumn fruit in large copper basins.
The afternoon equestrian show drew crowds with a demonstration of dressage and costumed parades, celebrating Provençal equestrian tradition. Groups of folk dances in traditional costumes and musicians playing the galoubet and tambourine animated the village throughout the day. Children's workshops and food stalls offering Var specialties contributed to the festive and family atmosphere of this entirely free day.
