First Edition — December 2017
The Docks Electronic Festival launched its first edition on December 15 and 16, 2017 at the Warehouse in Nantes. Two evenings with complementary aesthetics marked this inaugural weekend.
Friday, December 15 — Techno / Indus / Acid
The first night featured an international techno and industrial lineup. Rebekah, a key figure in British techno signed to Soma, CLR, and MORD, led the evening alongside Ansome in an analog live performance (Mord, Perc Trax). The lineup was completed by AZF (Jeudi Minuit), 14anger (Industrial Strength Records), Laurent Ho (Epiteth, Industrial Strength Records), David Asko (A-Traction Records, Drum Tunnel Rec), and Neon b2b P-H.T.
Before the evening's events, at 9 PM, Olivier Pernot, a journalist for Trax and Libération, author of Electro 100 and French Touch 100, hosted a free conference tracing the history of rave parties in France.
Saturday, December 16 — House
The second night celebrated house music with Detroit legend Kevin Saunderson as the headliner. A pioneer of techno and a member of the Belleville Three alongside Juan Atkins and Derrick May, he shared the stage with Leo Pol live, S3A, DJ Freddy, Péo Watson & Missnoa, Dan Bono, and Fleury.
Scenography
Lille-based artist Mr Nuage created the scenography and mapping for the entire festival, crafting an immersive visual environment in the Warehouse's two rooms (Main Room and Rave Room).
