Edition 2025 — Dragon Festival
The Dragon Festival 2025 was held from June 27 to 29 in Draguignan. For three days, the historic center of the Var prefecture celebrated the legend of Saint Hermentaire with costumed parades, medieval entertainment, exhibitions, free concerts, and family activities in the pedestrian streets and squares of the city.

Dragon Festival 2025 — June 27 to 29
As every year at the end of June, Draguignan celebrated its founding legend on June 27, 28, and 29, 2025. The Dragon Festival brought together residents, families, and visitors around a program rich in popular entertainment, true to the spirit of conviviality and sharing that characterizes this event.
Three days of festivities
The festivities began on Friday, June 27, with the opening of activities in the historic center. Throughout the weekend, the squares and alleys of old Draguignan hosted:
- Medieval costume parades: associations and residents dressed as knights, ladies of the court, merchants, and peasants from the Middle Ages animated the streets with processions and skits.
- The majestic dragon: an effigy of the dragon carried by volunteers, fire-eaters, and nocturnal pyrotechnic shows evoking the legendary creature.
- Exhibitions: an exhibition on the legend of Saint Hermentaire and the iconography of the dragon in Provençal medieval art, presented in municipal spaces.
- Free concerts: every evening, concerts brought together several hundred spectators in Place du Marché and Place Clémenceau.
- Family entertainment: workshops for children (making dragon masks, introduction to medieval calligraphy), storytelling, and street performances accessible to all.
- Artisan and gastronomic market: local producers, artisans, and restaurateurs offering the flavors of Dracénie.
The magic of a Dracénois summer
The Dragon Festival 2025 benefited from ideal Provençal weather: the warm evenings at the end of June contributed to creating an incomparable festive atmosphere in the medieval alleys of Draguignan, illuminated for the occasion. The festival attracted a large family audience, coming from all over the Var and neighboring towns.
