Durance Luberon Festival 2025 — 28th Edition
The 28th edition of the Durance Luberon Festival took place from August 1st to 16th, 2025, in the castles and villages of the Durance and Luberon region for fifteen days of classical and lyrical music in exceptional locations.
The 2025 program blended major works from the lyrical repertoire with more unusual offerings. Verdi's La Traviata, in a staging adapted for open-air spaces, was one of the highlights of the edition. The exploration of Bizet before Carmen revealed to the audience the lesser-known facets of the composer of L'Arlésienne. The operetta Les Travaux d'Hercule by Claude Terrasse, rarely performed, delighted the audience gathered on August 14th at the Château de Peyrolles-en-Provence.
The ApérOpéra "Violence and Passion", dedicated to Verdi on August 10th at the Château de Mirabeau, brought together singers and the audience in the intimate and festive atmosphere that characterizes these 7:30 PM events — before the Provençal night descended upon the Durance valley. The group The Green Duck, with its Irish sounds, added a different touch of color on August 8th at the Château de La Tour d'Aigues.
