Edition 2025 — Escales

The 2025 edition of the Escales de Créteil festival dedicated its program to a region of the world chosen in connection with the communities present in the city. Concerts, introductory workshops, documentary film screenings, and exhibitions made up a rich program accessible to all inhabitants of Créteil and the Val-de-Marne.

Escales 2025 — Musical Journey in West Africa

The 2025 edition of the Escales festival highlighted West African music, exploring the richness and diversity of the region's musical traditions—griots, kora, balafon, djembé and dundun percussion, Mandinka and Wolof music, as well as their contemporary evolutions in the jazz and world music scenes.

Internationally renowned musicians and griots shared the stage with French artists from these traditions. Percussion, singing, and dance workshops allowed the inhabitants of Créteil to discover these musical practices. An exhibition of photographs and musical instruments accompanied the concerts in the spaces of the Maison de la Solidarité.
