Festimages Nature: Photography for Biodiversity

Since 2008, Festimages Nature has invited nature and photography enthusiasts to discover biodiversity through the lenses of photographers from around the world. Organized by the Cardamine association in Saint-Berthevin, near Laval, this festival combines high-quality photographic exhibitions, audiovisual screenings, and an exclusively digital photo competition.

A Wildlife Photography Competition

At the heart of the festival is a fully digital nature photography competition, open to amateur and professional photographers. Each year, a professional jury, chaired by a renowned wildlife photographer — including Jean-François Hellio, Louis-Marie Préau, Daniel Magnin, Laurent Geslin, and Alain Pons — selects the most beautiful images of fauna and flora.

Varied Categories

The competition explores the diversity of the natural world through several categories, from classic wildlife photography to natural landscapes, macro photography, and nature atmospheres.

Exhibitions and Screenings

The festival offers a route of photographic exhibitions showcasing the works of invited photographers and the best shots from the competition. Continuous audiovisual screenings allow visitors to discover nature from around the world, from local Mayenne fauna to exotic species from distant lands.

A Recognized Event

With approximately 4,500 visitors per edition and around thirty exhibitors, Festimages Nature has established itself as one of the leading nature photography festivals in the Grand Ouest region, attracting photographers and enthusiasts from all over France.
