Art'Cacius Festival: Culture in a Rural Setting

Art'Cacius Festival was born from the desire of a collective of enthusiasts to reduce inequalities in access to culture in rural areas. Created in January 2020, the Art'Cacius association set itself the mission of promoting the Théâtre de Verdure des Genêts, a natural amphitheater nestled in the heart of the Valdivienne countryside, about thirty kilometers south of Poitiers. The first edition of the festival took place in July 2022, laying the groundwork for an event that has become a must-see in the cultural landscape of Vienne.

An Exceptional Natural Setting

Located at the Théâtre de Verdure des Genêts site, along the D8, the festival benefits from a unique green setting. This open-air theater offers an intimate and warm atmosphere where the public can enjoy concerts in a relaxed setting, with their feet in the grass and under the stars. Free camping on-site allows festival-goers to extend the experience and fully enjoy the weekend in nature.

An Eclectic and Committed Program

Each edition features a varied lineup mixing rock, reggae, ska, cumbia, festive songs, and electronic music. In 2025, the festival hosted artists such as Vanupié (reggae and soul), Les Yeux d'la Tête (festive songs and rock), Los K-SOS (ska, punk, cumbia), and Kiss of Bliss (rock). Musical interludes and DJ sets ensure a continuous atmosphere from 5:30 PM until the early hours of the morning.

Art'Cacius Festival stands out for the richness of its parallel activities. A crafts market showcases local know-how, while circus workshops open to all and fire juggling shows punctuate the day. The catering area highlights local products and conviviality. Accessible to people with reduced mobility, the festival aims to be inclusive, family-friendly, and environmentally friendly.

True to its values of sharing and accessibility, Art'Cacius Festival operates on the principle of free and conscious pricing. Each spectator contributes according to their means, ensuring access to culture for all. This solidarity-based economic model, supported by volunteering and associative commitment, makes this event a model of participatory festival in a rural area.
