Play, dream, share in the heart of Drôme
The Valence Board Game Festival, also known as "Valence joue", is a gaming event organized by the Collectif Valence joue! in partnership with the City of Valence and the MJC du Grand Charran. Born in 2006, this biennial festival offers a full weekend dedicated to board games, role-playing games, miniatures, escape games, and prototypes, attracting enthusiasts from France, Italy, and Belgium to the Halle Chaban-Delmas.
Since 2006, the Valence Board Game Festival has been the major meeting point for game enthusiasts in Drôme. Initiated by the MJC du Grand Charran with the support of the City of Valence, this event has evolved over the years to become a reference festival in the regional gaming scene, attracting participants from all over France as well as Italy and Belgium.
For several years, the festival has taken on a new momentum under the name "Valence joue", driven by the eponymous collective. This renewal is reflected in an enriched format, with a full weekend of gaming activities at the Halle polyvalente Chaban-Delmas. On Saturday from 2 PM to midnight and on Sunday from 10 AM to 5 PM, players of all levels can indulge in their passion in a friendly and accessible space.
The festival covers the entire gaming universe through several thematic areas:
The festival hosts publishing houses, specialized game stores, and gaming associations that come to present their new releases and run games. It's a place of discovery for both newcomers and seasoned players, where everyone can find something they enjoy.
Beyond gaming, the Valence Board Game Festival is a moment of sharing and conviviality. Families, groups of friends, and solo players gather in a warm atmosphere. Board games, as a vector of social connection, find an exceptional showcase here. The event also contributes to the cultural life of Valence and the animation of the local associative network.
The 3rd edition of "Valence joue" will be held on March 14 and 15, 2026, at the Halle polyvalente Chaban-Delmas in Valence, with board games, role-playing games, miniatures, escape games, a prototype lab, and meet-and-greets with designers on the program.
