Led by the Lot'Harpes association and directed by harpist Valérie Mazerie, this festival celebrates the harp in all its forms: Celtic harp, classical harp, Paraguayan harp, and world repertoires. Each edition features concerts mixing local artists and international guests at the Salle des fêtes in Lacapelle-Marival, at the foot of the medieval castle of this town in Ségala quercynois.

Lot'Harpes: Harp in the Spotlight in Quercy Country

The Lot'Harpes Spring Festival was born from the passion of a group of harpists from the Lot region, united around Valérie Mazerie, to share the richness and diversity of the harp with as many people as possible. Since 2019, the Lot'Harpes association has organized a spring festival of concerts in Lacapelle-Marival, a medieval town in the Lotois Ségala dominated by its imposing 13th-century castle.

A Harp Ensemble at the Heart of the Project

The Lot'Harpes association brings together an ensemble of six or more harpists who regularly perform in the Lot department and its surroundings. Under the direction of Valérie Mazerie, this ensemble offers an eclectic repertoire that travels through the musical traditions of the whole world: Celtic music, traditional tunes, contemporary compositions, and Latin music. The spring festival is the annual highlight of this activity, offering a showcase for the harp in all its diversity.

Guest Artists from Various Backgrounds

Each edition of the festival hosts renowned harpists from different musical worlds. The public has had the opportunity to discover Kévin Le Pennec, a leading figure in Celtic harp and "trad'actuelle" music, whose playing blends Breton traditions with personal creations, and Ismaël Ledesma, a virtuoso of the Paraguayan harp, an ambassador of Latin American music worldwide. These encounters between local artists and international guests are the richness and originality of the festival.

A Warm Atmosphere in the Heart of the Lot

The concerts take place at the Salle des fêtes de Lacapelle-Marival, a friendly venue that allows for a rare closeness between musicians and the audience. The small size of the hall encourages attentive listening and an intimate atmosphere, ideal for appreciating the delicate sounds of the harp. The festival is part of the cultural life of the Grand Figeac territory, contributing to the animation and influence of this part of Quercy.

A Festival Open to All

True to its mission of sharing, the Lot'Harpes Festival practices an accessible pricing policy: reduced price for under 18s and free admission for children under 12. The event is aimed at both discerning music lovers and families and the curious who wish to discover an instrument that is both ancient and resolutely modern.
