An international folk festival in the heart of Lot-et-Garonne

The Festival de Pujols - Couleurs du Monde was born from the passion of Monique and Gilbert Broit, founders of the association Couleurs du Monde. Since its creation in 1999, this folk festival has brought together dance troupes and musicians from all over the world every summer to celebrate the richness of traditional cultures and intangible heritage. Affiliated with CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts), the festival guarantees the quality and authenticity of the invited groups through a rigorous labeling process.

Pujols, a classified gem for a cultural journey

The festival takes place on the Esplanade du Palay, in the heart of Pujols, a medieval village classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, perched above the Lot valley. This exceptional setting offers a unique backdrop for the open-air performances that take place every evening, from Monday to Saturday, from 7 PM to 11 PM.

Each evening is dedicated to a different country: spectators thus travel from one continent to another, discovering the dances, music, and traditional costumes of nations as varied as Colombia, Cuba, Togo, India, Tahiti, Brazil, Peru, Uganda, Bolivia, Ecuador, China, and many others.

A rich and festive program

Each evening, the festival offers a double program:

  • The Festival Off (7 PM - 8:45 PM): variety concerts and entertainment to open the evening in a friendly atmosphere.
  • The main show (9 PM - 11 PM): performance by the invited international folk group, with traditional dances, music, and costumes.

In addition to the shows, the festival animates the village with a world market offering crafts and products from around the world, a bar, and a food service allowing the celebration to continue in a warm and family-friendly atmosphere.

Remarkable volunteer commitment

The Festival de Pujols is supported by about sixty dedicated volunteers, including many families who host the musician and dancer artists in their homes. This host family system creates moments of sharing and intercultural exchange of rare intensity, far beyond the stage. This human dimension, based on hospitality and generosity, is the very soul of the festival and makes it a unique event in the cultural landscape of the Southwest.
