A traveling festival in the heritage sites of Haute Ardèche

The Festival Inspiration is a traveling musical event that enriches the territory of Haute Ardèche every summer, in August. Organized by the association Carrefour des Arts, based in Lalouvesc (07520), the festival programs concerts in remarkable heritage sites in northern Ardèche: the Chapelle Saint-Ignace in Lalouvesc, the Église de Molière in Pailharès, the Basilique Saint-Régis in Lalouvesc, and other historical sites in the region.

Classical, Contemporary, and World Music

The programming of the Festival Inspiration celebrates music in all its forms: classical, contemporary, traditional, and world music. The festival hosts high-level ensembles and soloists, offering programs ranging from the baroque repertoire to contemporary creation. In 2025, the lineup featured The Banshies (baroque ensemble), harpsichordist Justin Taylor, flutist Marine Sablonnière, and the vocal ensemble IRINI, offering a rich and varied musical palette.

Proximity between artists and the public

One of the unique features of the Festival Inspiration is the exceptional proximity between artists and the public. Concerts take place in small-capacity venues — chapels, churches, and historical halls — where natural acoustics and the intimacy of the space create a unique listening experience. Musicians perform a few meters from the audience, in a direct relationship that transforms each concert into a moment of intense and privileged sharing.

Rediscovering Ardèche's heritage

Beyond music, the Festival Inspiration aims to revive forgotten heritage sites and showcase remarkable sites in Haute Ardèche. Each concert is an invitation to explore a different place, to appreciate the architecture and atmosphere of sometimes little-known chapels and churches. The festival thus contributes to the valorization of the architectural and natural heritage of northern Ardèche, by associating it with quality musical programming.

Carrefour des Arts in Lalouvesc

The association Carrefour des Arts, located at the Hubac de Besset in Lalouvesc, organizes the Festival Inspiration and develops cultural and artistic activities throughout the year in Haute Ardèche. Artist residencies, workshops, and meetings complement the summer festival, creating a vibrant cultural hub in a rural mountain area. Carrefour des Arts is committed to the democratization of culture, making classical music accessible to a wide audience through free admission for those under 18.
