The Wild West in the heart of Ardèche

Created in 1996 in Saint-Agrève, on the high Ardèche plateau, Equiblues was born from a shared passion among friends for horses and music. The founding idea was to organize events around these two themes during the summer in this mountain village located at an altitude of 1,050 meters. Since its creation, Equiblues has continuously grown to become the biggest rodeo in Europe and a must-see event for Western culture in France.

Rodeo, Western Riding, and Equestrian Shows

The heart of the festival is the rodeo, a spectacular competition where riders compete in traditional American rodeo disciplines: bull riding, wild horse riding (bareback and saddle bronc), and calf roping (team roping). The Western riding competitions bring together the best European riders. Equestrian shows by renowned troupes complete the program with stunts, lasso work, and a saloon atmosphere.

Country Music and Blues Under the Stars

Equiblues evenings vibrate to the sound of country music and blues. Open-air concerts feature artists from the French and international country and rockabilly scene. Festival-goers dance the line dance and two-step under the stars of the Ardèche plateau, in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Country music and blues are inseparable from Equiblues' identity.

A Life-Sized Western Village

For four days, Saint-Agrève transforms into a true Wild West village. The festival site offers a Western village with craft stalls, Tex-Mex food, farriery and saddlery demonstrations, horse rides for beginners, and activities for the whole family. The atmosphere is that of a popular and festive gathering, where Western culture enthusiasts mingle with the curious coming to discover this world.

An Associative Festival Driven by Volunteers

Equiblues is a non-profit association, composed exclusively of volunteers. This associative and activist dimension gives the festival its authentic and warm character. Since 1996, Equiblues has greatly contributed to the expansion of American riding and country music in France. The 2025 edition takes place on August 13, 15, 16, and 17.

Equiblues — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of Equiblues Western Festival is expected in mid-August 2026 in Saint-Agrève, with rodeo, Western competitions, country-blues concerts, and equestrian shows.
