Medieval Festival 2025

The 2025 edition of the Medieval Festival of the Château de la Chèze took place on July 19 and 20, 2025, in Le Cheylard. On Saturday, from 10 AM to 12:30 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM, and on Sunday, from 2 PM to 7 PM, visitors were transported on an epic journey from the 12th century to the Renaissance.

Fifteen recreated 15th-century encampments hosted the public for demonstrations of medieval daily life. Interactive workshops offered shield and clay flute making, introductions to medieval fencing, archery, and period dances, as well as recreations of historical games.

Choreographed combats and knight armor speed contests captivated the audience, while medieval music groups enlivened the days. The castle banquet on Saturday evening (7:30 PM, reservations required) offered a period meal in a sumptuous setting.
