Edition 2025 — Mélusine
The 12th edition of the Mélusine Festival, on July 5th and 6th, 2025 at the Commanderie du Saulce, brought together three exceptional artists: Éric Astoul on piano, Guillaume Martigné on cello, and Maxime Zecchini on piano. Three concerts offered a journey from Beethoven transcribed by Liszt to French songs arranged by Zecchini, including a chamber music recital with Brahms, Debussy, and Bloch.
12th Edition — July 2025
For its twelfth edition, on July 5th and 6th, 2025, the Mélusine Festival offered three concerts in the remarkable garden of the Commanderie du Saulce. A colorful edition, bringing together a cello-piano duo and two piano recitals in the romantic setting of the Templar estate of Escolives-Sainte-Camille.
Concert Program
- Saturday, July 5th at 5 PM — Éric Astoul, piano: Beethoven / Liszt — transcriptions and original works, exploring the dialogue between the two titans of romantic piano.
- Saturday, July 5th at 8:30 PM — Guillaume Martigné (cello) and Éric Astoul (piano): Brahms, Debussy, Bloch, Beethoven, Popper — a chamber music recital blending late romanticism and early 20th-century modernity.
- Sunday, July 6th at 2 PM — Maxime Zecchini, piano: Mozart, Saint-Saëns, Fauré, Debussy, Gershwin, Satie, Michel Legrand, Bernstein, French songs — an enchanted journey from classics to jazz, from film music to popular songs.
The Setting and Atmosphere
As with every edition, the concerts were interspersed with a country buffet served in the commandery's courtyard, and a guided tour of the historic estate and its remarkable park, with the owner Bertrand Deroubaix. The 2025 edition once again confirmed the uniqueness and incomparable charm of this human-scale festival, where the proximity between artists and the public creates all the magic of the experience.
